Contentment

Paul admonishes young Timothy that godliness with contentment is great gain 1Tim. 6:6.  I hope that as church planters we are all in this thing for the right reasons. In verse 11 he says that we shold flee the things, and consequences  that come with wanting to be rich: temptaion and a snare, foolish and hurtful lusts, destruction and perdition, loving money, erring from the faith, and having many sorrows. He follows up by saying that we should follow after righteousness, faith, love, patience, meekness, and that we should fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life whereunto thou art also called. If we as leaders of the church would only follow this advice, I believe that our churches would be more healthy, grow, and reproduce.

Hell

Luke 16 gives us a very vivid description of hell. I think a lot of times we wish that it was just not so, but if we are going to be Bible teachers, then we are obligated to teach the whole counsil. In some of  today’s up and coming churches, there is a temptaion to leave out those things that might upset people. As I read through Scripture, yes Jesus preached with love in his heart, but this never stopped Him from talking about those tough topics. Preachers, if we are going to build Bibical churches, then we must warn everyone that yes there is a hell, but also there is a way of escape.

Back Home

It feels good sleeping in my own bed again. Camp was fun ,but it was just that, camp. The most exciting thing that happened all week was that a 12 year old young man from Taiwan got saved. Please pray for him, his name is Daniel. Also pray for all of the people who made decisions, that they will stick to them.
